I am so excited to see mass timber projects come to life in Austin and Portland! I have anxiously awaited and longingly looked out windows at PDX, watching the stunningly beautiful mass timber addition come to life. So, I was thrilled to see a mass timber project going up in my neighborhood in Austin over the spring and summer.
The new Austin mass timber project by Hines is located at 1201 East 4th Street, Austin, Texas. I walked up Waller Street every chance I got while the building was open during construction, so I could gawk at the stunning mass timber beams being installed. If only they could have left it open and not installed the windows! I highly recommend detouring by this building.
